Let yourself be silently drawn by the
strange pull of what you really love.

IT WILL NOT LEAD YOU ASTRAY.

ABOUT ME

I attended the FSU Flying High Circus Homeshows in the Spring of 2008 and was floored by how SPECTACULAR it was. The students, the acts, the music, and the LIGHT. I joined the circus the following Fall 2008 semester, which just so happened to coincide when I received my first DSLR.

After joining I couldn't take enough photos. I became obsessed with the light that was created for the shows and fast-moving performances that came along with it. I had found something that excited me and that light helped me learn how to use my DSLR. These two things brought me back to life and have kept me going ever since.

I took photos of the rehearsals when I didn’t need to participate in them and after I graduated I continued to photograph the rehearsals and also the shows themselves. Now, I didn’t just take photos for the circus, but also for the students performing. There are so many moving parts during a show and not everyone can get photos of their act(s) during one performance.

Now that I’ve done a LOT of rambling (told you so), I’d like to briefly (I promise) tell you about my other expertise/secondary focus that has spanned over the past decade. I’ve photographed dozens and dozens of weddings, engagements, and FSU seniors. None of those areas seemed to really click with me and my personality and what I was really good at: performances.

My primary focus now is photographing live events such as concerts, plays, and most definitely the circus. Check out both of my portfolio galleries to see where I’ve come from and where I’m going.

I attended Florida State University and received my B.S. in Family & Child Sciences in 2011. While at FSU, during my sophomore year, I joined in one of the most unique extra-curricular activities any University can have: the circus.

Before I joined the circus, I was quiet and shy. I had friends, but nothing really captivated my interests. I was also, to be blunt, depressed and borderline suicidal (hey, I did warn you that I overshare…plus I want to keep it real with y’all). There were two things that saved me.
