After joining I couldn't take enough photos. I became obsessed with the light that was created for the shows and fast-moving performances that came along with it. I had found something that excited me and that light helped me learn how to use my camera.
I took photos of the rehearsals when I didn’t need to participate and after I graduated I continued to photograph the rehearsals and also the shows themselves.
When I first started photography I didn't limit myself to photographing only the circus. My other expertise/secondary focus has spanned over the past decade. I’ve photographed dozens and dozens of weddings, engagements, and FSU seniors. None of those areas seemed to really click with me and my personality and what I was really good at: performances.
My primary focus now is photographing live events such as concerts, plays, and most definitely the circus. Check out both of my portfolio galleries to see where I’ve come from and where I’m going.
I attended Florida State University and received my B.S. in Family & Child Sciences in 2011. While at FSU, during my sophomore year, I joined in one of the most unique extra-curricular activities any University can have: the circus. I was floored by how SPECTACULAR it was. The students, the acts, the music, and the LIGHT. That same year I received my first DSLR.

ello, I'm Kaitlin! I am a photographer living in Tallahassee, Florida. I’m a circus lover, mother of three furballs, and pro silly person with a sprinkle of awkwardness.

Life is a big canvas; throw all the paint on it you can.
You're only given one little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.
